Congratulations to the East York Atom Boys for winning Gold at the Brantford CYO Paul Mitchell Invitational Tournament, January 22-25th, 2015!
The team shook off a 19 point loss to London CYO (50-31) in their first game on Friday, won two critical games on Saturday (59-36 over Norfolk Nets, and 37-27 over Brantford Hawks #2) to take second place in pool A and gutted through a one point victory in the Semi-Finals against the top team in Pool B, St. Catherines Rebels (37-36) on Sunday morning, to set up a rematch with London CYO for all the marbles.
This time, a 54-46 victory was the result as the boys made some critical adjustments and played good, smart team basketball. Well done!
