START OF 2020/2021 HOUSE LEAGUE SEASON DELAYED
We have been informed by the TDSB that due to enhanced safety measures being implemented for the return to school and the continued uncertainty related to the COVID pandemic, that all permits related to the community use of facilities will be on hold most likely until January 2021.
Without access to our permitted gyms, East York Basketball Club has no option but to delay the start of the upcoming House League season, for the first time in our 15 year history. The Club will continue to plan for the eventual return to basketball and hope that this delay will be short-lived.
With more than 450 families already pre-registered, we will maintain these lists, and will look to pull from each list (based on the order in which families pre-registered), to fill the various house league sessions, once the TDSB makes the gyms available to us again.
Online Pre-Registration for East York Basketball’s 15th annual House League season remains Open!
Pre-registration secures your young athlete(s) a spot on the waiting list for their respective House League session. Successful pre-registration does not however guarantee a spot in the upcoming House League season. EYBC will pull from each list (based on the order in which families pre-registered), to fill the various sessions, once program details are finalized. Program fees will not be collected during this pre-registration process.

EYBC has transitioned to TeamSnap’s league registration software for the coming season.
Fall/Winter House League Program
The Fall/Winter House League program is available for boys and girls, ages six and up.
The program focuses on skills development, participation and fun. The first part of each session is devoted to teaching the fundamentals of the game with instruction and drills. During the second part of each session, participants are able to apply what they have learned during a series of basketball scrimmages. Current physical distancing guidelines and restrictions on physical contact will prohibit scrimmages during each session. Until these restrictions are lifted, Sessions will be more training-focused.
All house league sessions are held on Saturdays from mid-September through early-March at Cosburn Middle School. As we look to expand the program, we will be adding gym facilities in our surrounding community. Capacity guidelines, along with facility availability, may require EYBC to add facilities beyond Cosburn MS. Any additional facilities will be within close proximity.
The schedule for both the Boys and Girls sessions is as follows:
PRELIMINARY Fall 2020/Winter 2021 House League Schedule
Grade 1 and 2
9:00am to 10:00am
Grade 3 and 4

Fees are subject to change based on the costs incurred to implement the required Enhanced Safety Protocols related to COVID. Family discounts are available when registering two or more children in the same family.
East York Basketball has the following Refund Policy:
- Prior to Opening Day – Full Refund less a $25.00 Administrative Fee.
- After Opening Day and only until the fourth session – 75% Refund of total amount paid.
- No Refunds will be issued after the fourth session.

2020/2021 Fall/Winter House League Session Calendar:
Session Calendar TBD
All participants are provided a reversible jersey, shorts and a basketball at the first session of the season. Participants are expected to bring their jersey and basketball to each session so that they can fully participate in the drills. Please make sure the participant’s name is clearly marked on their basketball. If the ball is lost, a new one can be purchased at the front desk each Saturday.
EYBC is a non-profit organization managed and operated solely by volunteers. As the Club continues to grow in membership and programs, the need for volunteers also grows.
