“After going 6-0 in league play, the Atom Girls team beat Triple Balance 37-9 in their semi-final. For the final, they played a Tri-County team from Guelph and won 37-11. A well-earned victory for the girls which completes a very successful season.”
Congratulations to the U11 East York Girls Atom Basketball team for winning the Hoopdome Tournament in Toronto on Sunday, January 31st, 2016. The team went undefeated & captured the championship with a score of 32-20. After finishing their Pool play by going 2-0, they then pulled out a 1 point victory in the Semi-Finals against the Sudbury Jayhawks & a 12 point Finals victory over the St. Catharines CYO Rebels!!! Good luck to three of East York Basketball's Rep Teams as they finish off their 2014/15 seasons at the annual OBA Provincial Championships in three different locations from March 27th until March 29th, 2015! First up the Novice Boys U10 team will take their success at the Blessed Sacrament Tournament in Hamilton earlier this month, where they captured a Gold Medal in their division, to Burlington, Ontario for a chance to bring home more hardware as they compete in a very impressive Division 4! The Atom Boys U11 team will also be hoping to build on their success at Blessed Sacrament, where they took home the Bronze Medal, in Aurora as they battle some familiar foes in Division 6 action. Previous results against teams like the Whitby Wildcats, St. Catherines Rebels, London CYO, and YNBA will make this a very competitive tournament. Go team! And the Atom Girls U11 team will be on the road in London, Ontario to finish off an inaugural season on a high note. After capturing their own Gold Medal at Blessed Sacrament the ladies will be looking to make some more memories as they compete in Division 4 in the Forest City. All the best! Congratulations to the East York Atom Girls for winning Gold at the Blessed Sacrament Tournament, February 27-March 1st, 2015! The team went 3-0, winning their pool, then a 3 point victory in the Semi-Finals against Toronto Triple Threat & a 12 point Finals victory over the Cambridge Centaurs!!! With a team made up of 9 of 12 Novice players, this victory is very well earned!!!
