The Major Midget Boys U16 team competed in the King James Tournament in Akron, Ohio over the weekend of April 24th – 26th, 2015. The boys faced stiff competition from teams hailing from Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio and were definitely pushed to their limits and out of their comfort zone. Although the results may not have been what was hoped for by the squad, the experience of competing in such a large tournament (the U16 Division alone had 16 pools of four teams!!!) was invaluable as the team prepares for the stretch run in their season, which will culminate with the Ontario Provincial Championships in Kingston, Ontario from May 29th – 31st.
The boys all wore “We The North” socks as a source of pride for their roots and no doubt left Ohio with memories of a terrific shared experience that can only come from a classic team road trip.
