The Alec Badley Scholarship Program

For over 10 years, Alec Badley was totally committed to the team & the East York family. He always volunteered his time and was truly a positive influence on the boys’ rep teams.

In the following years, with his son, Graeme, past his playing days, we were looking for some members to join our Club’s Board. Instantly, Alec came to mind, who, of course, accepted without hesitation and became a Board Director in December 2019.

The following year, our Club leaned heavily on Alec during the COVID pandemic as he oversaw the daily operations of a Senior Residence. With Alec’s input, the proper letters & rules were implemented and we were able to get through this tough time.

During the last couple of years Alec was instrumental in allocating gyms to all our Rep teams and helped organize uniform distribution for our House League Program.

In memory of Alec, the East York Basketball Club annually honours the recipient who shows true sportsmanship, comradery and positivity towards their fellow peers & coaches.
